Building a Strong Affiliate Organization Outline
I. Building and Maintaining a Strong Internet Presence. Each state affiliate should be working on developing a strong internet presence. The internet is one of the fastest ways to build momentum for a party.
- Rebranding the state logo. In the event the state logo is outdated then it should probably be redesigned and modernized. The logo is the basis of all branding.
- Developing a strong website. Creating a website that everyone is proud of is important
- Social Media Marketing. Establishing and developing a strong social media strategy.
- Blogging. Each affiliate should develop content by creating a blog with a lot of contributors.
- Database Management. Deciding on a CRM to use to manage the parties contacts, members and registered voters.
II. Fundraising. The financing of state and county affiliates, LP national memberships, funding candidate campaigns, campaign finance laws.

- Developing a fundraising campaign
- Determine the budget for the party to establish fund raising goals. Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly

III. Recruitment. Membership recruitment: membership development, membership management, volunteer recruitment, volunteer management building your LP Affiliates.

- Orientation. Developing introductions to volunteering, running for office and other positions within the party.
- Volunteers – vetting volunteers and getting them involved in the affiliate
- Identifying and recruiting strong candidates

IV. Organizing Your Affiliate. Building and organizing your affiliate.
The following activities are largely focused on the organizational aspects of State/County affiliate’s development and planning.
Affiliate planning: strategic planning, development of research skills for planning purposes(surveys/focus groups)
- Affiliate development: party building, professionalization, training in organizational management
- State/county affiliate organization: working with the LSLA and county affiliates, coordination of organizational activities, programs
- Resource development: allocation of budgetary resources within the affiliates
- Message development: policy agenda formation, affiliate image building, communicating the Libertarian platform and development
- Media relations: media training, developing messages for media coverage
