Libertarian State Leadership Alliance Support Committee
Memorandum of Understanding

The Libertarian State Leadership Alliance (LSLA) Officers have created the LSLA Support Committee to assist them with accomplishing their goal of effectively supporting State Affiliates with building their state parties and getting Libertarians elected.

Objective: The near-term objective of this special committee is to compile a document of best practices for State chairs to serve as a reference and/or guidance with different aspects of building their LP affiliate.

Purposes: The members of this committee, of which there will be as many members as needed, are tasked with the following purposes:

  • Gather from State Chairs and other LP Members a listing of topics they want to see covered and compile all relevant information needed into an outline;
  • Review existing documentation and determine to what extent such documentation is current and useful;
  • Research the best practices of other successful organizations and determine what other information is publicly available;
  • Publish final product in a generic format to be disseminated to all State chairs (electronically) as well as be accessible on the LSLA.Org website.

Membership Overview: This committee is assuming an important role. State party leaders across the country have high expectations and are depending on the members of this committee to act effectively and diligently.

Service on this committee may not be what you are accustomed to. This is a working committee and its requirements are demanding. It is not for those who expect to simply attend meetings and pontificate. You are expected to proactively volunteer to take on tasks and not wait to be asked. Members shall submit reports of their progress by email at least 48 hours in advance of each meeting.

As a member of this committee, you agree to serve with the above understanding. You also acknowledge that if LSLA Officers or fellow members of the committee believe your efforts are not sufficiently contributing to the successful planning and implementation of this project, you will promptly be removed from the committee by the LSLA Officers.

Meetings: Electronic meetings are tentatively scheduled for the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 6:00 pm Pacific Time, but members should expect that the Chair will likely call for additional, more frequent meetings to stay on target. Failure is not an option.
